Western swing comes to Boulder

Wendell Mercanitle and His Western Swing Allstars will be performing as a part of the 3rd Thursday series at eTown Hall in Boulder. The Wyoming based artist is hosting a dance party of music on Thursday, November 17 from 7 to 9 p.m. at 1535 Spruce St., and tickets to the show are $10.

Local musician passes from aneurysm

Guitarist and co-founder of the local act Gin Doctors Tyler Despres died suddenly on November 1 following an aortic aneurysm. Despres was 34, and a graduate of Broomfield High. Several businesses have held and will be held in the future for Despres, but no formal plans to honoe the musician have been announced.

The Cantabile Singers open season with new director

The 2016-2017 season for the Cantabile Singers opens Sunday at the First Congregational Church in Boulder. The singers have a new director this year, Brian Stone, who came to Boulder in 2008 and obtained his master’s from the University of Colorado Boulder in choral conducting. The show will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, and cost $15.
