Pollution kills, duh

We all know pollution is bad, for rivers and oceans, the ozone and the air we breathe, for the flora and fauna, and for us. Now, studies are available that show what kind of impact pollution is having on our world.

The first global analysis of pollution shows that pollution causes 16 percent of deaths in the world. Diseases caused by pollution caused an estimated 9 million deaths in 2015. Of those deaths, about 92 percent were in low and middle-income countries.

A number of deaths caused by pollution are three times more than those who have died from AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria combined. More than almost any cause of death that is serious.

Reducing pollution is as important to saving our planet as it is to saving our lives.
