COLONIAL HEIGHTS — Colonial Heights City Council honored the late Roger Green by presenting his wife, Robyn Schaeffer Green, with a resolution honoring his work in the community.

Green was described as a pillar of the Colonial Heights community. He passed October 23, after a battle with cancer.

Green was previously the principal of Colonial Heights Middle School and worked as an adjunct professor at John Tyler Community College. Green was the executive director for the chamber of commerce and was vice president of the Membership for the Virginia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives.

He was also a member of the Kiwanis Club and was an active member of many other community groups in the city.

Mayor Gregory Kochuba presented the resolution to Green’s wife and spoke of how he made Colonial Heights a better place.

“He was gentle, and he was kind, and he was a very loving individual. And he did an awesome job to improve our city, and we’re thankful to have Roger,” said Kochuba.
