Nederland folk group collaborates with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra in Denver
Elephant Revival, a music group from Nederland, will be performing with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, Nov. 26 at the Boettcher Concert Hall in Denver. The group headlined at Red Rocks back in July, and will join the symphony with it’s slew of instruments: the washboard, pedal steel, cello, trombone, trumpet, mandolin, banjo, guitars and fiddle, among others.
The show will be at 7:30 p.m., and tickets are on sale now, costing from $29 to $89. The band will also be playing at the Boulder Theater on Dec. 8. and the Aggie Theater won Dec. 9 with Gipsy Moon. For more information on Elephant Revival, check out their website, elephantrevival.com.
CU Boulder professor debuts concert at the Colorado Symphony
CU Boulder professor Daniel Kellogg debuted his violin concerto, “Rising Phoenix” at the Colorado Symphony tonight at the Boettcher Concert Hall in Denver.
The concerto was inspired by the story of the mythical phoenix, and has been two years in the making. The concert also includes performances of Beethoven and Dvorák pieces.
You can catch the concerto again Saturday night, at the Boettcher Concert Hall at 7:30 p.m.. Tickets are between $29 and $89, and can be purchased here.
Boulder Benefit for Haiti announces artists
“After the Storm: A Benefit For Haiti” will take place on Nov. 4, at the Boulder Theater.
The event comes following devastation left from the recent Hurricane Matthew. Communities in Haiti were ravaged, with more than a thousand people losing their lives.
The benefit will feature reggae group the Meditations, Leftover Salmon‘s Vince Herman, ska group Judge Roughneck and more, with proceeds going to help those in Haiti in need.
