A Colonial Heights student was walking home from school on Sept. 14 when a two-car accident occurred and one vehicle struck the girl.
According to Colonial Heights Police Capt. Wayne Newsome, a vehicle failed to yield which resulted in a collision with another car on the road. The vehicle then hit two pedestrians on the side of the road, who were both then transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Those involved in the crash are minors, so police are not releasing the names of those involved. The driver that struck the student was charged with failure to yield as a result of the accident.
