COLONIAL HEIGHTS — A Colonial Heights man was sentenced 20 years for crimes that he committed against a minor back in the 1990s.
Robert Holley, 61, pleaded guilty in Colonial Heights Circuit Court to four different felony counts, which stemmed from acts that he committed between 1991 and 1994.
According to the prosecutor in the case, Holley was found unconscious in 2010, and when police arrived, he told the officer to take him to jail because he had touched a victim inappropriately and had intercourse with her when she was a child back in the 1990s.
Holley was charged with two counts of aggravated sexual battery, one count of forcible sodomy, one count of indecent liberties, and one count of rape.
During the sentencing on Wednesday, June 6, Holley spoke to the court, stating that he was “very remorseful” and asking for forgiveness from the victim and her family.
Holley was sentenced 20 years with 16 suspended for each count of aggravated sexual battery, rape, and forcible sodomy, and five years with one suspended for the indecent liberties with a child charge. The sentence was a total of 85 years, with all but 20 years suspended.
Holley is also charged in Dinwiddie court another similar felony charge. As a part of his plea deal, the sentencing for this charge, which is 20 years, will run concurrently with that from Colonial Heights.
