Delegate Rosalyn R. Dance barely edged out her competition, Evandra Thompson, to keep her seat in the House of Delegates.

Dance, who serves the 63rd District in the Virginia House of Delegates, will have her name on the ballot as the Democratic candidate in November.

The primary election, which follows a heated campaign between Dance and Thompson, showed Dance received 2,485 votes, or 52.87% of votes, while Thompson trailed close behind with 47.13%, or 2,215 votes.

Also on the ballot on Tuesday was the choice for the Democratic nominee for Lieutenant Governor and the Attorney General.

With 54.28% of votes, State Sen. Ralph S. Northam won over Aneesh Chopra for a position on Novembers ballot as the Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor.

The Democratic nominee who will appear on the ballot for Attorney General will be Mark R Herring, receiving 51.63% of votes over Justin E. Fairfax, who received 48.37%.
