COLONIAL HEIGHTS — Ten now retired employees of the Colonial Heights School System were recognized by the School Board at the Nov. 17 meeting.
According to Assistant Superintendent Troy Hedblom, a total of 15 school system employees retired in June of 2015, with a combined total of 427 years of service in the field of education.
“We know that they greatly impacted the lives of thousands of students during their educational careers,” said Hedblom.
The following retirees were recognized at the meeting: Jane Briggs, who worked at North Elementary School from 2002 to 2015. Briggs worked 19 years in public education, with 13 being in Colonial Heights
Kathleen Bruneau, who worked at Colonial Heights Middle School. Bruneau worked 14 years in public education, all of which were in Colonial Heights.
Lisa Craig, who worked at Lakeview Elementary from 1986 to 2015. Craig worked for 31 years in public education, 29 of which were in Colonial Heights.
James Creighton, who worked at Lakeview Elementary School. Creighton worked six years in education, all in Colonial Heights.
Paula Gehman, who worked at North Elementary School. Gehman worked for 37 years in public education, 21 of which were in Colonial Heights.
Janet Hodnett, who worked at North Elementary School from 2011 to 2015. Hodnett worked 19 in public education, 15 of which were in Colonial Heights.
Nancy Holleman, who worked at both North and Tussing Elementary Schools from 1972 to 2015. Holleman worked in public education for a total of 45 years, with 43 being in Colonial Heights.
Betsy Luck, who worked at Tussing Elementary School from 1998 to 2015. Luck worked in public education for 35 years, 17 of which were in Colonial Heights.
Philip Morini, who was a part of the maintenance staff for the Colonial Heights School System from 1984-2015. Morini worked a total of 31 years for the school system.
Ronnie Moseley, who worked at Colonial Heights Middle School and Colonial Heights High School from 1971 to 2015. Moseley worked 44 years in public education, all in Colonial Heights.
Not present at the meeting were John Brannan, with Colonial Heights for 39 years; Mike Brown, with Colonial Heights for 20 years; Deborah Marshall, with Colonial Heights for 19 years; Gayle Miller, which Colonial Heights 36 years; and Anna Smith, with Colonial Heights for 24 years.
